Feeding Jaco, like other parrots, should be complete and varied.

جاکو ته څه شی ورکول کیږي؟

The diet of the Jaco should be as close to natural as possible. The composition of the diet should include grain mixtures, fruits and vegetables. But nuts should be treated with caution – this is quite a fatty food. Also, the diet should be rich in vitamin and mineral supplements. Be sure to feed the Jaco with grain mixtures. Grain mixtures must be premium, vacuum-packed. Thus, the risk of feed contamination with pathological microflora is reduced. The Jaco’s beak grows throughout its life, and the bird needs to grind it down; branch food is well suited for this: birch, linden, apple tree. In addition, branch forage is rich in essential tannins. But no conifers – the oils emitted by these trees are deadly to birds. Sprouted grain is food rich in vitamin D. Jacos are especially willing to eat it in winter, when the amount of vitamins in the diet is reduced. It is better to cut fruits and vegetables into pieces, as they eat carelessly and drop food on the floor, but they no longer pick it up from the floor. Almost all fruits and vegetables are suitable for feeding Jaco. Of the prohibited ones, you can list beets, potatoes, avocados, onions, garlic. Feeding Jaco should also be varied with cereals without salt and spices, boiled in water (you can cook until half cooked): rice, buckwheat, millet and others are suitable.

Do not forget to introduce ready-made vitamins into the diet during the autumn-spring period, when the bird needs them most.

Vitamins can be either dripped into the feed or added to the drinker. In this case, it is better to change the water every 12 hours.
